Hong Kong Mahjong Tools — Faan, Payments & Match Scorekeeper

Check hand faan, compare point payments, or keep a four-player match ledger with undo, local recovery and final settlement.

Start with what you already know

The hand calculator answers “Is this a winning hand, and how many faan?” The payment calculator answers “Given the final faan, how do points move?” Use them in that order when you have not scored the hand yet.

The browser game and its worked examples use our house rules. Named references and other table conventions are identified separately; compare the conditions before combining faan values. Compare table rules →

Faan calculator

Enter concealed tiles, exposed sets, flowers and the winning context. Get the hand shape, contributing patterns, final faan and whether it reaches the minimum.

Score calculator

Already know the faan? Choose the win method and scoring preset to calculate each player’s point change. House rules and the half-laak comparison are displayed separately.

Match scorekeeper

Keep a four-player ledger, preview each hand, undo mistakes and restore after refresh. End the match for a point settlement and copyable summary.

Try a complete example

Load the saved hand and read its win method, winds and flowers before changing anything. For payments, the 3-faan example already contains the final faan; selecting self-draw changes payments, without adding another faan.

A few things to know

Can the tools calculate cash stakes?

The tools show faan and game points. They do not convert points into currency.

Does choosing half-laak change the hand’s faan?

No. It changes the payment formula for the final faan you enter. Check hand legality and the minimum in the hand calculator first.
